Talking of 'being warned' can you believe it is nearly Halloween, where has this year gone? I'll be hanging up my Halloween bunting and also putting my Halloween wreath in the front door. I know its very American to hang a wreath on the front door at times other than Christmas but I think its fun and I intend to make a red and pink one for valentines and a lilac/yellow/white one for Easter...in for a penny in for a pound.
I was invited to an event last month to do some networking with like minded people, it was at the South Bank Centre in London and was organised by Caz Taylor of Taylor'd Bundles. I am one of the collaborators who works with Caz building her wonderful bundles. You might not be surprised to hear that I provide the bunting for the bundles! Caz has now got 20 of us making hand made items for her New Baby/ New Mum/New Sibling/Baby Shower bundles - to name a few. She puts them all together beautifully and every gift is unique, pop along to her site www.taylordbundles.co.uk We were brought together for the first ever #makeitsewcial These get togethers were the idea if Allison Sadler from Birmingham who started meeting up with her friends to do craft projects together, the word spread and now the Make It Sewcial events take place all around the country, and like I said the one I went to was the first in London. We had processco, cake and business card swapping. Caz gave us a talk on her business and how to promote our business and also tips on using social media, another lady gave us a talk about how her business was set up and then we all spoke to each other in turnabout our businesses. There were 20 of us in total and we all made a gift to go in the goody bags (or made a cake). I supplied 20 strands of mini bunting.
